Women’s Issues
I've helped women who struggle with shouldering the weight of the world find ways to find peace and balance in their lives. Through practicing self-care and setting boundaries, my clients have discovered that it is possible to prioritize their individual selves, while managing roles of being mom, partner, and friend. My goal is for my clients to feel that every part of their lives is being addressed and nurtured; I work with the whole person.
Why focus on women’s issues?
Women face unique pressures and from child bearing and raising, maintaining intimate relationships, and dealing with misogny in our everyday lives. Women are 3x more likely than men to develop anxiety, depression or trauma related mental health issues (citation). Some of the common challenges that women face are:
Anxiety and depression
Intimate partner violence
Struggles with body image
Eating Disorders
Pre and postpartum anxiety
Postpartum depression
Low self-esteem and low self-worth
Persistent feelings of guilt and shame
Do any of these feelings resonate with you?
You fight all the time with your partner.
You feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders
You lost the joyful feelings that you used to have in life.
You wake up every morning feeling overwhelmed, sad, and depressed.
You feel like there are so many things to manage and your forever growing "to do list" leaves you feeling completely exhausted, and have little time to rest
How can therapy help?
Therapy helps you rise above your challenges and living your ideal life, with less suffering and more balance.
Together, we will work on getting you the practical tools you need to prioritize yourself and set boundaries with others, so you can take care of you.
