Hi, I’m Kaylan Michas

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New Jersey who works with late teens and adults who are motivated to take their first steps in their healing journey. My focus areas include working with women’s issues, anxiety, trauma, relationship stressors, chronic stress, and survivors of violence.

My goal is to help you feel safe and whole again.

Being a therapist is inspiring

I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and watching them transform their lives. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life.

I am committed to helping you to find your own path of healing and transformation. I am excited to start this process with you.

My Approach

I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and utilize a holistic and somatic techniques to teach clients coping skills they can use in their every day lives.

My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and often infused with humor to help clients feel heard, relaxed, and understood. I enjoy helping my clients find inner peace, set boundaries, and navigate through life’s challenges. I will work with you to find balance in your life, and help you heal from the inside and out.

My Background

I received a bachelor of arts in Psychology, and Women and Gender Studies from Rutgers University. Afterwards, I received my Masters in Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work, where I specialized in issues related to violence against women and children. After graduation, I went on to work in numerous sexual violence and domestic violence resource centers in New Jersey, and became a dual Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Advocate.
